No refunds will be given. This includes the registration fee and one month’s tuition.

There will be no refunds for absences due to illness, holidays, snow days or vacations. Most nursery school children are absent occasionally for one reason or another during the school year. This was taken into consideration when the tuition fees were established.

Tuition is paid for one month in advance and is due on or before the first of each month. Please make all checks payable to St. Paul’s Nursery School. Although we prefer payment by check, we will accept cash payments in the exact amount. Please mark clearly an envelope with the child’s name. Tuition may be mailed or dropped off in the office.   We do not send out monthly bills; therefore, your prompt payment of tuition is requested.

REGISTRATION & INSURANCE COVERAGE

A $61.00 non-refundable fee must accompany the application enrollmentment form. This will cover registration and the mandatory insurance fee for the school year.

HEALTH

All children entering school in the fall must have a medical examination before Sept. 1. Each teacher will inspect her group daily and will send home any child who appears ill or unduly tired. We ask your cooperation in keeping home a child with the first sign of a cold (heavy nasal discharge and or cough) or a rash. Please report to the school if your child has been exposed to any contagious illness. Written notice in the event of exposure to contagious illness will be sent home immediately.

CLOTHING

Please dress your child comfortably and simply in washable clothing. We want your child to feel free to paint and use materials without much concern for her clothing. Sneakers or rubber-soled shoes should be worn for your child’s safety; she should be able to walk, climb or jump without slipping.

Outer clothes should go on easily so that the child can learn to dress himself with a little help from his teacher, if necessary. The child’s name should be on outer clothing and boots.

TELEPHONE CALLS

The Nursery School telephone number is 201-391-3860. This telephone will be operated Monday through Friday during school hours.

TOYS

Many young children like or need to bring some possession from home to school. Please try to eliminate toys that have sharp edges, action toys, guns, and games with small pieces. Usually a book, CD, or a soft toy will be satisfactory for the child. Please label the toy with the child’s name.

REFRESHMENTS

A snack and juice will be provided by the school each day.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Please speak with your child’s teacher one week before your child’s birthday if you wish to bring in a special snack to celebrate your child’s birthday.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES

Conferences are held in March. Please feel free to ask your child’s teacher for an appointment to discuss any concerns throughout the school year.

TRANSPORTATION

Parents are responsible for transportation to the door and from the school. Your child will be allowed to leave only with the people whose names are on the authorized pick up form. We must have written or verbal authorization for any changes.

SCHOOL CLOSING

Emergency School Closing # 201-391-8880 or www.montvale.k12.nj.us

Snow days and most holidays will coincide with the Montvale School system. The siren blows at 7:00 a.m. and closings are announced by WVNJ Radio 1160 AM.

Should we decide to close our school even though Montvale Schools are open, you will receive a call stating same. Please do not call the staff at their homes regarding school closings. A letter explaining our delayed opening policy will be provided in the fall.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS/TRIPS

During the course of the school year, many visitors come to the school to present informative programs. A short trip by bus might be scheduled as well. Please be assured that all trips are covered by an Insurance Company, and that the buses are equipped with seat belts.

PARENT VISITS

Throughout the year, parents and grandparents are invited and encouraged to read a book, share a hobby or a special talent with their children’s class.

SCHOOL CALENDAR

Your school calendar for the coming year is handed out on the first day of school. Please save it for future use.

ABSENCE

Please call the school if your child is going to be absent. This is especially important if your child has a contagious disease.

We look forward to another very happy year together, and welcome you and your child to St. Paul’s. If you have any questions about our program or your child, please call.
