Transition Update #2

In the Episcopal Church the parish selects or “calls” their priest – one is not assigned to the parish as in other denominations. This process begins with the priest’s separation announcement and the planning of the end of ministry celebrations. We are in this phase right now.

Please plan on joining in the celebration of Ed’s ministry with us at St. Paul’s during the 10 am service on June 9th and continuing on at the Annual Picnic following the service.

Once Ed retires on June 30th, the Wardens and Vestry are the formal and canonical leaders of the congregation and are responsible for worship services and pastoral care. As in the past while Ed was on vacation, our services will be lay led with guest preachers and Supply Clergy as needed. The Wardens will have clergy contact information for any Pastoral matters that may arise. In the next few weeks a meeting will be held with a Transition Counselor provided by the diocese and St. Paul’s Vestry. This will begin a period of discernment with discussion about our mission, financial stability, and programs that will help us select an Interim Priest. An Interim Priest is specially trained to assist the parish during this time as we begin the search for our next priest. Our goal is to have an Interim Priest in place for Welcome Back Sunday on September 8th. The Wardens and Vestry will continue to update the parish throughout the Transition process. Please contact us should you have any questions or concerns.     Update #1

Dozens of Fresh Eggs

Dear parish family,
As you may or may not know, our family has been raising chicks for a year now and are becoming overwhelmed with eggs.  Our eggs are all natural non-gmo, some brown and some greenish blue. We have a refrigerator behind our garage where we store the eggs for anyone interested in picking up.  Our address is 5 Edgren Way, Montvale.  Please feel free to come by at your convenience and pick up a dozen or more. Come anytime.  It would be helpful if you return the cartons when you are done.  Thanks,
The Piatt Family
